The forging production process takes the plastic deformation of the forging as the core and consists of a series of processing steps.
(1) The pre-forging process mainly includes blanking and heating processes. The blanking process prepares the original blank according to the specifications and dimensions required for forging, and if necessary, the original blank should be treated with rust removal, surface defect removal, oxidation prevention and lubrication; the heating process should be adjusted according to the heating temperature and production cycle required for forging deformation The raw blank is heated.
(2) Forging deformation process The blank is plastically deformed on various forging equipment to complete the internal and external basic quality requirements of the forging. The process may include several steps.
(3) Process after forging deformation After forging deformation, the cooling process of the forging is followed. Then, in order to supplement the deficiencies of the previous process and make the forging fully meet the requirements of the product drawing of the forging, it is also necessary to carry out a series of processes such as trimming and punching (for the forging die), heat treatment, calibration, and surface cleaning. Sometimes, post-forging cooling is closely combined with the heat treatment process to obtain specific forging properties.
Quality inspection is carried out between each process and before the forgings leave the factory. The inspection items include aggregate shape and size, surface quality, metallographic structure and mechanical properties, etc., which are determined according to the requirements of semi-finished products and forgings between processes.
The essence of forging is to apply external force to the blank through the tool or die. The blank absorbs mechanical energy, and the internal stress state distribution changes, resulting in the displacement and deformation flow of material particles; for hot forging, the blank also absorbs thermal energy due to being heated. , the corresponding temperature distribution changes are generated inside. Driven by force and heat, the blank changes its appearance, shape, size and internal tissue properties.
